The Broken Bow lake  is located on the Mountain Fork River which is home to many cold water trout  just north of the town of Broken Bow.  The lake stretches 22 miles (35 km) back into the Ouachita Mountain country where its unusual beauty and scenic appeal beckons all sorts of nature enthusiasts. The mountain terrain is densely forested containing many different species of animals including white tail deer, black bear and many different birds native to the area for birdwatchers to enjoy.
